Adele is queen of the Indie chart
Surprised? Neither are we...
If there's one thing you can sure of on a Friday these days, it's that Adele will be perched atop the Irish indie chart. Quite frankly, we've run out of witty ways to describe the Londoner's quite astonishing dominance of the Irish record-buying public, so we'll just come right out with it: Adele's 21 and 19 occupy their familiar spots of #1 and #2 on the Irish indie chart. Bravo Adele, your success continues to amaze, but maybe let somebody else have a go eh?
There's no change at #3 as The Waterboys continue to make An Appointment With Mr. Yeats while Scala & Kolacny Brothers climb four places to #4 with their self-titled effort. Villagers' Becoming A Jackal holds firm at #5 while Ryan Sheridan moves up one place to #6 with The Day You Live Forever.
The highest new entry of the week goes to Jape, whose Ocean Of Frequency debuts at #7 with Irish soccer legend Paul McGrath just behind, falling four places to #8 with Handle With Care. Elsewhere there are new entries for Bonnie Prince Billy and Stewart Agnew at #13 and #14 respectively, with the latter's Hello Bright Spark currently streaming on hotpress.com here.
