Lizzo releases new album Bitch
Lizzo first coined the phrase "I’m 100% that bitch" on her 2017 single 'Truth Hurts'.
American singer and rapper Lizzo has released her new album Bitch.
"Reclaiming the word Bitch is power," said the four-time GRAMMY winner on the inspiration for the album title.
"It's taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence and unapologetic self-love. So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity, like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliot. It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favourite word when using it on my own terms and because I am 100% that bitch!"
Last month, Lizzo released the title track 'Bitch' along with its video. It was produced by frequent collaborators Ricky Reed, Blake Slatkin and Zack Sekoff.
Lizzo debuted 'Don't Make Me Love U', a single from the album, last year, while hosting Saturday Night Live, as it was originally intended for the album Love In Real Life, which has since been shelved.
Away from music, she has written her first children's book, Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin', set to be released on September 8.
