10 dead at German techno festival
Many more people attending the Love Parade have been injured.
There’s tragic news from Duisburg in Germany where at least 10 people have been killed and a further 10 seriously injured following a stampede at the Love Parade techno festival.
According to initial reports, the fatalities occurred when panic broke out in a tunnel feeding into the site. The organisers had been expecting up to a million people to attend the afternoon parade and the multi-stage DJ bill that follows it.
Headline acts that were to have played at the event, which used to take place in Berlin but now travels around the country, include Tiesto (pictured), David Guetta and Booka Shade.
