WATCH: Trailer for Irish comedy Four Mothers
Written by brothers Darren and Colin Thornton, the award-winning comedy speaks to mother-son relationships.
The trailer for upcoming Irish film Four Mothers has been released ahead of its arrival in cinemas, set for April 4.
Directed by Darren Thornton of A Date for Mad Mary and co-written with his brother Colin Thornton, a screening of the comedy will close this year's Dublin International Film Festival on March 2.
Played by James McArdle, the film follows Edward– a novelist who looks after his elderly mother Alma (Fionnula Flanagan). Ahead of his US book tour, the writer's friends force him to care for their mothers while they're away on an impromptu Pride holiday. Left alone with four very different women, Edward must navigate his career while also caring for the mothers.
The cast also features actors like Dearbhla Molloy, Stella McCusker, Niamh Cusack, Paddy Glynn, Rory O'Neill, Gordon Hickey, and Gearóid Farrelly.
The film premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in October, winning the Audience Award for Best Feature.
