WATCH: Trailer drops for new RTÉ gangland drama Kin, starring Aidan Gillen
'Kin' is set to follow the lives of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in a gangland war.
RTÉ has shared the first look at its forthcoming crime drama Kin, starring Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen among other Irish household names.
Kin follows the activities of a family of Dublin gang members at war with a rival gang, with Gillen taking on the protagonist role of the head of one of the families.
The series will air on RTÉ One, however, an official release date has yet to be set. The first block of four episodes having already been shot by Red Rock director Diarmuid Goggins.
The official synopsis for the show reads: "Kin underlines the unbreakable bonds of blood and family as it charts the lives of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in a gangland war and the consequences of their choices."
The show which was written and co-created by Peter McKenna. The full cast also features plenty of well-known Irish television stars, including Clare Dunne, Charlie Cox of Daredevil fame, Ciarán Hinds of Game of Thrones, Emmett Scanlan of Peaky Blinders, Outlander actress, Maria Doyle Kennedy and Sam Keele, to name a few.
