WATCH: The Toy Story 4 trailer on Toy Story's 23rd Anniversary
Happy birthday, Toy Story! (Birthday guests at 3 o'clock!)
On this day in 1995 Pixar's Toy Story was released in the States. 23 years ago Buzz (Tim Allen) and Woody (Tom Hanks) made us laugh, cry and, above all, root out our beloved old toys that were once shelved.
Toy Story has earned $29 million in box office sales on the opening weekend. The budget for the film was set at $30 million, a near return in a matter of days.

The enduring success of the film lead to several sequels, including the upcoming release of Toy Story 4. The film franchise takes on the imagination of children as Bonnie makes a toy out of spork, bringing the utensil to life.
This thrusts Forky into a whirlwind of anxiety as he believes he isn't in fact a toy. Somewhat similar to Buzz Lightyear's identity crisis in the first film, when he refused to believe he was a toy.
Watch the teaser for the upcoming fourth film, set to Joni Mitchell's 'Both Sides Now'.
