Netflix announces Agent Elvis cartoon with Matthew McConaughey
The news of a cartoon series follows the death of Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa-Marie earlier this year.
Due to be released in March this year, a new cartoon about Elvis Presley called Agent Elvis has been announced.
Produced by Presley's former wife Priscilla Presley, the fictional story will air on Netflix.
Since Mike Arnold is the show-runner and head writer of the series, the visual style is reminiscent of the adult sitcom Archer.
In the upcoming animated series, Presley has to fight against many opponents and villains while holding down his day job as King Of Rock and Roll. A first teaser for the upcoming Netflix series, featuring Matthew McConaughey voicing Presley, has just been released. Check out the clip below.
Following the blockbuster Elvis by Baz Luhrmann, Agent Elvis will be the second tribute to Presley to be released in less than a year.
With Elvis, Luhrmann received nominations across the board; including Academy Award nods for Best Picture, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography and more. As lead actor, Austin Butler received the Best Actor trophy from the Golden Globes for his portrayal of Presley.
There is also another Presley tribute project in the works by US filmmaker and actress Sofia Coppola. The film will revolve around Elvis Presley's memoirs called Elvis and Me, published by Priscilla in 1985.
