WATCH: First trailer released for Violent Night - a Christmas movie with a twist
David Harbour stars as Santa Claus in this bloody, action-packed take on a Christmas movie.
The first official trailer for the unique Christmas movie, Violent Night, starring David Harbour of 'Stranger Things' has been released.
From 87North, the producers of Nobody, John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Bullet Train comes a dark holiday action/comedy, directed by razor-edged Norwegian mastermind Tommy Wirkola.
The film centres around a "bad" Santa, the hero of the film, who's always ready for combat.
When a team of mercenaries break into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David Harbour).
The film also stars Emmy winner John Leguizamo (John Wick), Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Alex Hassell (Cowboy Bebop), Alexis Louder (The Tomorrow War), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones) and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise).
Violent Night is produced by 87North’s Kelly McCormick David Leitch and Guy Danella, with the original screenplay written by Pat Casey & Josh Miller, the writers of Sonic the Hedgehog. The film’s executive producer is Marc S. Fischer.
Violent Night will hit Irish screens on December 2, nationwide.
