Sharon Hogan announced as keynote speaker for SXSW London festival
"What we’re building here is a bridge between international talent and the U.K., between film and the wider creative industries, and points of connection between film, music, art, and technology," said Anna Bogutskaya, head of Screen at SXSW London.
SXSW London has announced its initial lineup of keynote speakers and the first titles for its Screen Festival, which will take place from June 1-6.
Sharon Hogan, the Meath actress, writer, director, producer, and comedian, is among the headliners. She is recognised for creating and starring in the comedy thriller Bad Sisters. Horgan also created and executive-produced HBO's Divorce in 2016 and is currently developing her forthcoming HBO comedy series, Youth.
Joining her is Russell T Davies, the writer behind Queer as Folk, revitalizing Doctor Who, and the drama It’s A Sin. Finally, the lineup features Tom Quinn, the CEO and founder of Neon, the independent film company behind Parasite and Anora.
The Screen Festival has revealed the world premieres of three films for its program. Among them is the feature documentary Feast Or Famine, narrated by UK chef Marco Pierre White and co-directed by Adrian Choa and Michael Boccalini. The festival will also premiere the Canadian comedy All Night Wrong, directed by Jason James, and The Remedy, directed by Alex Kuham.
“SXSW London Screen Festival is not designed to be just another film festival," said Anna Bogutskaya, head of Screen at SXSW London. What we’re building here is a bridge between international talent and the U.K., between film and the wider creative industries, and points of connection between film, music, art, and technology."
