Robin Windsor, a professional ballroom dancer who appeared as a professional on the hit series Strictly Come Dancing between 2010 and 2015, has died at age 44. Details of his death have yet to be confirmed.
Sisco Entertainment, which represented Windsor throughout his career in theatre and corporate entertainment, released a statement earlier today, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved friend, Robin Windsor.”
Most recently seen in the stage show Come What May, a tribute to Moulin Rouge, Windsor’s awe-inspiring performances will remain with coworkers and onlookers alike.
“His extraordinary ability to express emotion through movement captivated audiences, leaving them spellbound with every step,” the statement continued. "Beyond his impeccable dancing, Robin's vibrant spirit lit up the room, infusing rehearsals and performances with infectious energy and warmth. His laughter was contagious, his kindness boundless.”
Windsor joined the dance competition series Strictly Come Dancing in 2010 for the show’s eighth season, joining celebrity partners Anita Dobson, Patsy Kensit and Deborah Meaden among others.
Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, who paired up with Windsor in 2012, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram earlier today, saying, "My Bestie, My Robin, My Angel... now our forever Angel, who is loved, will always be loved, forever in my heart," she wrote, alongside a collage of photos. "My very broken heart, I love you, shine your beautiful, electric energy from heaven. SHINE IN PEACE."
