Omniplex set to open new 5-screen cinema in Dublin
The cinema is set to cost over €3 million and create around twenty new jobs.
Omniplex Cinemas Group have announced plans to open a new 5-screen cinema in Nutgrove Shopping Centre, Rathfarnham early next year. Adding to their twenty existing locations across Ireland.
The cinema is set to feature 5 screens, with each auditorium featuring ‘Pullman’ luxury style sofas - complete with footrests and Dolby Audio sound.
In addition to the classic cinema experience is a beer and wine lounge selling "themed cocktails and refreshments" - for those who yearn for a boozier night at the movies.
The cinema is set to be the first in the locality since the closing of The Landscape Cinema in 1955. “It is hard to believe that, by the time Omniplex Nutgrove opens, Rathfarnham will have been without a local cinema for 70 years and we couldn’t be more excited to bring it back," said Director of Omniplex Cinema Group Mark Anderson.
The cinema is set to cost over €3 million and create around twenty new jobs.
Despite the recent rise in streaming services and the closure of cinemas during the covid-19 pandemic, Ireland nonetheless remains an avid movie-going nation, ranking sixth in the world for cinema admission with 2.3 admissions per capita.
