New trailer for Irish musical film Flora and Son released
Directed by John Carney of Sing Street and Once, the film will release on Apple+ and in select cinemas next month.
Apple+ has released a new trailer for their upcoming musical film Flora and Son starring Irish actress Eve Hewson, seasoned Hollywood star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sing Street's Jack Reynor and Orén Kinlan, the son of Love/Hate actor Laurence Kinlan.
Directed by Irish director John Carney, who also directed beloved film musicals Sing Street and Once, Flora and Son will release Friday 22nd September in select cinemas and on streaming on Friday 29th September.
The film follows single mother Flora (Hewson) as she tries to navigate parenting her rebellious teenager Max (Kinlan). When she's encouraged to find Max a hobby, she recruits a washed-up LA musician (Gordon-Levitt) to teach them both guitar. An exploration into the transformative power of music, the film "explores the bond between a mother and son on a journey toward a new harmony."
It received a standing ovation at its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival last year, and has been called "charming, uplifting, and musically dazzling." It's exciting news from a director that has seen great success with his previous films; Flora and Son marks Carney's first feature project since 2016.
