Netflix Is Making A ‘Locke And Key’ 10 Part Series
Netflix is picking up where Hulu left off on the adaptation of Joe Hill’s and Gabriel Rodríguez’s comic book ‘Locke and Key’.
Netflix plans to have the abandoned script re-written and to re-cast the whole cast. Meredith Averill (The Good Wife) and Carlton Cuse (Lost) will co-run the series.
The comic book revolves around the Locke family after the murder of patriarch Rendell Locke, forcing them to move back into his ancestral home Keyhouse. The house is full of secrets and magic keys that open doors to different dimensions. The three children must protect the keys from one of their father’s friends who was possessed by a demon as a teenager and killed.
Hulu isn’t the first to pass on creating a ‘Locke and Key’ series. Back in 2008, its rights were bought by a film studio and then in 2010, Fox created a pilot episode, but neither went into full production. The film rights were bought again in 2014, but once again nothing was produced.
