Late Late Show reveals Friday night line-up
It's a night dedicated to the music of The Pogues as the holiday season ramps up.
The full line-up for Friday night's Late Late Show has been unveiled, with comedians Jason Byrne and Pat Shortt guest-starring.
Earlier this week, it was announced that the show will focus on Shane MacGowan, with a slew of Irish entertainment and music industry stars paying tribute to the legendary Pogues singer-songwriter. MacGowan himself will be in studio performing from his catalog of songs, including a special rendition of holiday favorite "Fairytale of New York."
Glen Hansard and Lisa O'Neill will be among those paying tribute to MacGowan, accompanying his band to perform A "Rainy Night in Soho." Aidan Gillen, Patrick Bergin, Moya Brennan, Philomena Begley and Pat McCabe will join host Ryan Tubridy, MacGowan, and MacGowan's wife Victoria Mary Clarke in discussing the writing of his music and the impact of The Pogues on the Irish music scene.
In addition, actor and comedian Pat Shortt will make his way through the audience as his latest character, while comedian Jason Byrne will offer his takes on recent news events and discuss his series of children's books.
Lastly, Tubridy will speak with volunteers who have been working with Ireland's homeless population over the past year, learning their stories and the positive impact volunteering can have.
The Late Late Show arrives Friday, 13 December at 9:35 p.m. on RTÉ One.
