Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Cillian Murphy and more make 2026 BAFTA longlist
One Battle After Another makes the longlist 16 times.
A number of Irish actors have made the longlist for the 2026 BAFTAs.
Jessie Buckley is on the list for Leading Actress, for her role in Hamnet, with her co-star Paul Mescal longlisted in the Supporting Actor category. Cillian Murphy is longlisted in the Leading Actor category for his performance in Steve, while Andrew Scott also made the Supporting Actor Category for his performance in Blue Moon.
One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, has been longlisted 16 times across 25 categories, including for top categories like Best Film and Best Director, Adapted screenplay.
Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet and Ryan Coolger’s Sinners follow closely behind, having been longlisted 14 times each.

The nominations will be announced Tuesday 27 on the BAFTA YouTube Channel, and the final winners will be revealed at the BAFTA film awards ceremony on Sunday, February 22. The award ceremony will by hosted by actor and director Alan Cumming, and will be broadcasted live on BBC One and iPlayer.
