Hot for 2020 Film/TV: Eanna Hardwicke
Roe McDermott looks at the Irish film and TV talent set for a huge 2020.
It’s set to be an incredible year for the 22-year-old Cork actor. He’s making his first big television appearance in the upcoming adaptation of Sally Roooney’s Normal People, the 12-part series on the BBC, directed by Oscar-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson. Hardwicke will play leading character Connell’s best friend, acting alongside fellow Cork actor Sarah Greene. But that’s not all – Hardwicke is also about to make waves in Lorcan Finnegan’s hotly anticipated sci-fi horror Vivarium, a 2019 Cannes smash set for release this year. Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots play a couple stranded in a Kafkaesque suburban nightmare, with Hardwicke playing an adult-child placed into their care. Vivarium will be in Irish cinemas this March.
