Hans Zimmer to compose new James Bond score
The German composer will take over for Dan Romer.
Critically acclaimed German composer Hans Zimmer has been hired to score No Time to Die, the upcoming James Bond film starring Daniel Craig. He is replacing Dan Romer.
Romer, previous collaborator with the film's director Cary Fukunaga, was dismissed last month by Eon productions, according to Variety. The composer had also worked with Fukunaga on Netflix's 2018 miniseries Maniac. No Time to Die will be Zimmer's first score in the James Bond franchise.
Zimmer has been extensively praised for his work on films such as The Lion King, Inception, Dunkirk and Pirates of the Caribbean and is no stranger to action flicks like the James Bond franchise. His signature blend of electronic and orchestral music have earned him 11 Oscar nominations (including one win), two Golden Globes and four Grammy Awards, as well as a main stage performance at Coachella two years ago.
The composer is also working on scores for 2020 films Wonder Woman 1984, Top Gun: Maverick and Dune. No Time to Die is currently in post-production and slated for an April 3 release in Ireland.
