Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special with Miley Cyrus announced

A Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special with Miley Cyrus has been announced, and its set for release on March 24 on Disney+.

The special, produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions, will be filmed in front of a live studio audience, and will feature an interview with Miley Cyrus, hosted by podcaster Alex Cooper. In the film, unreleased archival footage, alongside memorable sets from Hannah Montana will be shared.

Ahead of the anniversary, starting February 19, Disney+ will offer a full Hannah Montana Collection catalogue, sharing all four seasons of the show, as well as Hannah Montana: The Movie, and Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert.

"Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am," said Cyrus.

"What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection. The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years," she added.

Hannah Montana was an American teen sitcom, which centres on Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus), a teenage girl living a double life as famous pop singer Hannah Montana. Starring actors like Jason Earles, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Emily Osment, the show premiered for the first time in March 2006 on Disney Channel.

The Hannah Montana catalogue on Disney+ has gathered more than half a billion hours streamed globally to date, with the Emmy-nominated series earning 14 platinum and 18 gold albums worldwide, alongside two feature films.
