The trailer for the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle revival, set to arrive on April 10, has been released.
The four-episode series, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, will feature the return of nearly all of the original main cast members, including Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek, Bryan Cranston, Chris Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Emy Coligado.
Due to Erik Per Sullivan's retirement from acting, Dewey, Malcolm's younger brother, will be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.
New cast members also include Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, Kiana Madeira as his girlfriend Tristan, and Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, Hal and Lois’ youngest child, who was revealed via Lois' pregnancy in the series finale.
According to the logline, Malcolm has spent the last few years hiding and avoiding his family: "However, his plans are thwarted when he, his girlfriend, and his daughter are caught up in family chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence at their 40th wedding anniversary party along with the rest of the family".
Ken Kwapis directed all four episodes of the reboot, alongside the original writer and producer, Linwood Boomer.
Malcolm in the Middle originally aired on Fox for seven seasons and 151 episodes from 2000 to 2006. The show earned a total of 33 Emmy nominations, winning seven of them through the course of its run.
