First trailer for Beetlejuice sequel released
Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled details about the long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton's cult classic horror-comedy, Beetlejuice
The film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to hit theatres and IMAX screens on September 6, 2024, in the United States and internationally starting from September 4, 2024.
The movie is directed by Tim Burton and will star Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara performing their iconic roles once again.
The sequel follows three generations of the Deetz family returning to their hometown of Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life takes a turn when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, finds a model of the town in the attic, inadvertently opening a portal to the Afterlife.
The film features a cast of newcomers as well, including Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe, alongside returning stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was adapted from a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with a story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith. The film's producers include Marc Toberoff, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tommy Harper, and, of course, Tim Burton, with an executive production team of public figures such as Brad Pitt and David Katzenberg.
Behind the scenes, the creative team includes director of photography Haris Zambarloukos, production designer Mark Scruton, editor Jay Prychidny, costume designer Colleen Atwood, and makeup FX supervisor Neal Scanlan. The film will also feature the iconic music of composer Danny Elfman.
