Fifteen Noughties Irish bands That Should Have Been MASSIVE!
Are your favourites on the list alongside Director, Humanzi, Republic Of Loose, Turn, Fight Like Apes, The Chalets and Wilt?
While sad to part company with the '80s and '90s - thanks for all the good times, lads - we're seriously enjoying getting stuck into what twenty years ago was the new millennium.
Heartened by the fact that the Y2K bug didn't drag us back to the Stone Age, Irish bands embarked on an orgy of noughties music making, as evidenced by the all killer, absolutely no filler selection of tunes below. We're not going to lie to you - there will be a Vol. 2, 3 and possibly 4, such was the quality and quantity of what was conjured up in bedrooms, attics, garages, garden sheds, rehearsal rooms and studios the length and breadth of the island.
From the funky divilment of Republic Of Loose and punk rebooting of Compulsion to the dextrous wordplay of Messiah J & The Expert and perfect poppery of The Chalets, the decade genuinely had it all. Before the pedants pounce, yes, HamSandwicH should really have their own Fifteen Noughties Irish Bands That Are Still Going & Should Be Massive list, but we don't want them to feel lonely.
Once again, we're expecting an outpouring of outrage as you discover your personal faves haven't made the cut... yet! So, buckle yourself in for what is one hell of a noughties ride...
