Danielle Galligan selected for European Shooting Stars 2026
The actress is known for her roles in House Of Guinness, The Walsh Sisters and Shadow And Bone.
Danielle Galligan has been selected as one of the 10 winners of European Shooting Stars 2026.
The actress had a breakthrough year in 2025, starring in series such as Netflix's House Of Guinness as Lady Olivia Hedges and in The Walsh Sisters as Claire Walsh. The Dublin-native trained at the Lir Academy at Trinity College and is known for her role as Nina Zenik in Shadow And Bone.
As part of a four day programme, the European Shooting Star winners will participate in a series of networking sessions, industry meetings, press events and red carpet opportunities at the Berlin International Film Festival. The initiative, supported by Creative Europe's MEDIA Programme of the European Union, was created to help artists receive more international recognition and boost their careers.
The jury recognised Galligan for her role House Of Guinness, calling her “a charismatic, transformative talent,” and saying that there is “something very classic about her, bringing a brittle element to her performance, with a fierce, humoristic, and playful demeanour that lights up every scene.”
Additional selected winners include Fatlume Bunjaku (Albania), Lucas Englander (Austria), Violet Braeckman (Belgium), Salif Cissé (France), Enno Trebs (Germany),Tecla Insolia (Italy), Joes Brauers (The Netherlands), Sofia Tjelta Sydness (Norway) and Cleo Diára (Portugal).
Galligan's next project is the sci-fi film A Rare Breed, starring alongside fellow Game Of Thrones actor Iain Glen and Shadow And Bone's Jessie Mei Li. The film is currently in it's post-production stages.
