Ceolaireacht documentary series to return to TG4 this Sunday
The series fourth installment launches on Sunday, March 8 at 9:30pm.
The acclaimed music documentary series Ceolaireacht returns to TG4 for a fourth season, set to begin airing on TG4 this Sunday, March 8 at 9:30pm.
Presented by renowned fiddle player, singer and broadcaster Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, the new instalment will see the musician travel to Tyrone, East Galway, South Dublin and North Kerry, exploring vibrant traditional music scenes beyond the well-known strongholds of West Clare, Sliabh Luachra and Donegal.
It aims to explore the evolution of regional staples of traditional music, and examine whether they still exist today.
Across four 52-minute episodes, presenter Doireann Ní Ghlacáin will meet both emerging artists and established masters, discussing the connections between music, community and heritage.
Among musicians featured in the series are Shane McAleer, Sinéad McKenna and Niall Hanna (Tyrone); Claire and Breda Keville and Páraic Mac Donncha (East Galway); Peter Browne and Natalie and Maitiú Ó Casaide (South Dublin); and Anne and Nickie McAuliffe and Michelle O’Sullivan (North Kerry), alongside many others
Ceolaireacht is directed by Feilimí O’Connor and produced by Pax Ó Faoláin, with Niamh Ní Bhaoill as Executive Producer.
