Barry Keoghan, Niamh Algar and Wolfwalkers secure BAFTA nominations
The BAFTA awards ceremony will take place virtually on Sunday, April 11th.
Irish actors Niamh Algar, Barry Keoghan and Kilkenny Cartoon Saloon animated film Wolfwalkers have all received BAFTA award nominations this year.
Irish comedian and This Way Up actress Aisling Bea announced the nominees in a virtual ceremony this afternoon alongside Susan Wokoma. Over 7,000 BAFTA members voted for this year's nominees.
In the Best Supporting Actor category, Keoghan is honoured for his role in Calm With Horses, while co-star Niamh Algar picked up a nod in the Best Supporting Actress category.
The Co Galway and Clare-filmed crime-thriller follows ex-boxer Douglas "Arm" Armstrong, who has become the feared enforcer for the drug-dealing Devers family. The flick is also shortlisted for Outstanding British Film and Best Casting at this year's BAFTA awards.
