Will Smith and Martin Laurence to star in the recently announcedBad Boys sequel, entitled Bad Boys For Life

“There’s only one Will Smith and one Martin Lawrence. You can’t replace those guys and I wouldn’t want to be involved if it wasn’t Will and Martin. They are that franchise.” Said director Joe Carnahan in an interview with io9.

The director also spoke on the difficulties on trying to accommodate Smith's hectic schedule while he was filming supervillian blockbuster, Suicide Squad, “We couldn’t all get in a room, go through this thing and really ring it out,” Carnahan said to io9.

Details on the plot have yet to be realseasd but the film will be set 13 years after Bad Boys 2

The release date has yet to be announced also.
