What's happening in Cork for Culture Night 2026

Culture Night returns to Cork this year, bringing a full evening of music, art, food and performance to venues across the county. Organised as part of the national Culture Night initiative, the event gives people a chance to explore local galleries, theatres, museums and community spaces, many of which open their doors for free.

This year's programme features a wide mix of activities for all ages, with something on offer whether you're after live music, hands on workshops or a quiet look round a historic building.

Here are some of the things happening in Cork:

The 2FM Rising X Culture Night Live From St Luke’s Cork will feature performances from 2FM Rising artists MOIO, Mischa and the Bear, Run The Red, Chubby Cat and a live DJ set from 2FM DJ Graham Smyth. Doors open for the event at 7 pm, the show is strictly 18+. Tickets are now sold out, however some walk-up's may be accomodated if space allows.

For one night only, the historic English Market, one of Cork city centre’s most renowned cultural landmarks, will open its doors to celebrate Culture Night from 6pm to 9pm.

A selection of English Market traders will be open exclusively for the occasion, serving traditional tastes and local treats ranging from handmade sushi rolls to local cheese and charcuterie, alongside wine tastings and samples of traditional Cork favourites.

Local musicians will add to the market’s already vibrant atmosphere throughout the evening.

‘The Devils in the Dance Hall’ is inspired by the true story of Jimmy Gralton and the suppression of Ireland’s rural dance halls in the early 20th century. The performance will take place in Cork City Hall from 9 pm to 11 pm.

Choreographer and creator of the piece Edwina Guckian will teach the gathered audience dance steps across swing, trad, foxtrot, slow sets, sean-nós, lindy hop and set-dance, with the Gralton Big Band providing music. The show invites the audience to dance, move, or observe – providing an experience for those with dance experience and with none, including people with reduced mobility. This event is now sold out. Walkups will be accepted where capacity exists.

Collin's Barracks Military Museum will have a special late opening for culture night. Open from 7 pm to 9 pm, Cork’s only military museum tells the story of the personnel who served in the barracks over 200 years. On display are panels outlining information on the Easter rising, War of independence, Civil war, the Emergency and Irish Defense Forces on the UN Peacekeeping service.

Culture Night is free to attend and runs from early evening until late, with most venues open between 5pm and 9pm unless stated otherwise.
