Watch: Trailer for Professor Marston And The Wonder Women
The film centres around the controversial genesis of the iconic comic book character.
This year saw the release of the superhero blockbuster Wonder Woman , now we have a trailer for a film that covers a very different aspect of the character: her creation.
Professor Marston And The Wonder Women is a biopic about the man who came up with and wrote the original iteration of the character in 1941 as well as the two women who inspired him along the way. It stars Luke Evans, Rebecca Hall and Bella Heathcote
Based on what we see, don't go expecting a run of the mill tale of rags to riches, The story they are telling looks to be a complex piece that covers sexual and relationship taboos during an undoubtedly conservative time. Written and directed by Angela Robinson, It's not what one might expect of film about a comic book writer in mid 20th century America.
