WATCH: Patti Smith sings to Johnny Depp during Pathway to Paris live stream
The Godmother of punk also read poems and performed with her daughter in the Pathway to Paris live stream.
Last night, Pathway to Paris held their 50th Earth Day celebration concert on Instagram Live, bringing sets from performers across the globe including Patti Smith, Cat Power, Michael Stipe, Flea, and Ben Harper.
After Depp finished singing a cover of John Lennon's 'Working Class Hero', Smith and her daughter Jesse Paris Smith showed up to wish him well, and Smith sang 'Nine', a song off her 2012 album Banga, which she had written for the actor's birthday.
Elsewhere during the live stream, Cat Power covered The Rolling Stones 'I Can't Get No (Satisfaction)', and Bob Dylan's 'Kingsport Town', while Smith read several poems and sang several songs, often backed by Jesse.
