Watch: Hidden Figures trailer
Finally, the unsung heroes of the space race are going to get the recognition they deserve.
The film is based on the true story of three African-American women Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae) as they battle gender and racial stereotypes while shaping history.
The women worked at NASA and were part of the team responsible for launching astronaut John Glen into orbit in 1962.
With a seasoned supporting cast including Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst and Jim Parson, as well as music from Pharrell Williams, the film has success written all over it.
