Watch: First look at new Irish film The Drummer And The Keeper
The film features actors from hits like Jadotville, What Richard Did and Moone Boy.
A first-look clip has been released for an upcoming Irish film that promises to be heartwarming and wryly funny in equal measure.
The film focuses on the unlikely friendship between two young outcasts: Gabriel, a reckless young drummer who revels in his outsider status and Christopher, a 17 year old with Asperger’s Syndrome, who yearns to fit in.
According to a press release, the film features "a collection of talented Irish actors including Dermot Murphy (CLEAN BREAK, RAW), Charlie Kelly (THE SECRET SCRIPTURE, JADOTVILLE), Peter Coonan (WHAT RICHARD DID, LOVE/HATE), Aoibhinn McGinnity (MOONE BOY, QUIRKE, LOVE/HATE), Annie Ryan (FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF, LAWS OF ATTRACTION), Niamh Algar (WITHOUT NAME) and introducing Jacob Mc Carthy."
The film was directed by Nick Kelly, who was shortlisted for an Academy Award for his short film Shoe.
The film will be released in cinemas on September 8.
