Watch: Debut trailer for Arrival
The newest film from the director of Sicario will be full on science fiction.
From director Denis Villeneuve, Arrival is the story of first contact, where mysterious alien ships that look like giant, halved eggshells have popped up around the world. What do they want? The US government aims to answer that question, so they recruit language expert Louise Banks, played by Amy Adams, along with characters played by Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker, to try and communicate with these unknown visitors.
Unfortunately, the sudden appearance of the strange vessels all over the globe has sparked an international conflict, and our heroes will risk everything to save the world.
The movie will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on 1 September, followed by a full release 11 November.
