Unlikely Cast as Helen Mirren Joins Fast & Furious 8

Despite her 70 years, Helen Mirren is about to speed things up as she joins the cast of mega-franchise Fast & Furious 8.
She's already proven her stunt abilities tenfold as she starred in the action-packed Red and Red 2 so Fast & Furious should be a doddle to her. The silver-haired siren joins an award lauded cast in the 8th installment as it's already been announced that fellow Oscar-winner Charlize Theron is on board along with the faithful stars of Vin Diseal, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Kurt Russell.

Speaking to Elle Magasine, Mirren stated that she decided to join the franchise for 'the fun of it.' “I’ve always rather loved driving,” she told the magazine. “I said, ‘I’ll be in it, but only if I’m allowed to drive if I do drive in it.’”
Rev your engines people, Helen Mirren cruising around like an absolute boss is where the fun really begins!
Fast & Furious 8 is due to hit cinemas in April 2017.
