TV3 Group Records Highest Ever Monthly Audience Share

In viewership figures released by TAM / Nielsen for May 2017, TV3 Group recorded a 17.9% share of viewing, the highest ever monthly share in the Group’s history.

TV3 also boast that the Group were bigger than RTE Group on 5 out of 7 days last week for Under 45s.

Across the month, TV3 Group recorded a higher share of viewing than RTE Group on ten days for adults under 45, and on two days TV3 Group share of viewing for all adults was also higher than that of RTE Group.

With audience growth of 53% in the month of May, this strong performance further consolidates TV3 Group channel positions as 3 of the 6 most watched channels in the country.

Flagship channel TV3 also achieved another milestone with its highest monthly share of viewing for 2017, delivering a 12.2% share for May. This performance represented a 41% increase in share of viewing for May 2017 versus May 2016 and further strengthens TV3’s position as the second largest channel in the country after RTE1 and over twice the audience share of third largest channel RTE2.
3e grew its audience share by 8% from 2.6% to 2.8% and be3 recorded a 2.5% share of viewing in the month, consolidating its position as the 6th most watched channel in the country, ahead of TG4, BBC2 and Channel 4.

May was also a strong month for TV3’s on demand service, 3player, with streams up 177% in the month.

Off the back of a record breaking May, growth and momentum is continuing into June. In the week of 29th May to 4th June 2017, TV3 Group recorded its highest ever weekly share at 19.3% and in 5 out of 7 days last week, TV3 Group also recorded a higher share of viewing than RTE Group for adults under 45.
