Tony Cantwell, Peter McGann and Simon Hennessy announced for Giovanni Smokes comedy night in Dublin
Tickets are on sale now.
Meme-page curator Giovanni Smokes has announced his stand-up April Fool's show, featuring Tony Cantwell and more, set to take place in Dublin's Ambassador Theatre on April 1.
The lineup will feature five comedians, including Cantwell, Aideen McQueen, Simon Hennessy, Anna Clifford, Peter McGann, as well as Dan O'Farrell as MC. Giovanni shared that the night will be "strictly dedicated to pure, unfiltered stand-up" from the very best of the homegrown scene.
"It is a night designed for the followers, the talkers, and the fans of the Irish comedy circuit," he added.
Formerly known as Taytocock, Giovanni's satiric Instagram meme page first gained popularity in 2024. Using a naked picture of Mr. Tayto as a mascot, the humorous Dublin culture page was sued by the crisp giant in 2025. While the content creator won the case, the Instagram account had to be rebranded, creating giovannismokes.
Last January, he took his comedy night to Dublin's Workman's Club. The show featured six comedians, including Michael Fry, Becky Cheatle, Martin Angolo, Peter McGann, Ryan Carrick, Donna Fletcher, as well as Dan O'Farrell as MC.
He also hosted a Halloween comedy night special in Dame Street's Pawn Shop, featuring Helmut, Kaycee, Pagan, Talinho, and Tolentechno.
Tickets for Giovanni Smoke's Ambassador Theatre show are on sale now here.
