Talking Bollox live show coming to 3Arena

Terence Power and Calvin O'Brien are bringing their podcast Talking Bollox to the 3Arena in live form on Friday, April 30. It will be the biggest live show of their career so far.

The duo started their comedy podcast in 2020. It would go on to reach number 1 on Spotify, despite Power and O'Brien having no media background. "Two lads from the inner city of Dublin sitting around doing what they do best, talking bollox", reads the tagline.

Talking Bollox won an Irish Podcast Award in 2022 in the category Best Comedy Podcast, and the Listeners' Choice Award in 2023.

The 3Arena gig was announced with a video on their instagram page. It shows them at a kitchen table like the one they recorded their first episode at; then crowds, gigs, their increasing popularity; Power's experience with brain surgery and having a new baby; and finally shows both men grinning in front of the 3Arena.

"People don’t want to be tuning in to hear about someone who’s had this brilliant life – because they’ve inherited this, or been given that opportunity", O'Brien told Hot Press. "They want relatable people. Down-to-earth people who are doing great things."

Guests featured on the podcast have recently included MMA fighter Kiefer Crosbie, comedian Mike Rice, and boxer Molly 'Meatball' McCann.

Tickets to their 3Arena show are available from this Friday at 10 a.m. here.
