Taylor Swift is a fan of Irish author Sally Rooney
The singer has listed Sally Rooney, Game of Thrones and Drake as some of the influences for her songwriting.
Taylor Swift joins the ranks of celebrities obsessed with Irish novelist Sally Rooney.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the pop princess named Rooney’s book Conversations With Friends as one of the main influences for her upcoming album.
“I really like her book Conversations With Friends. I like the tone she makes when she’s writing. I think it’s like being inside someone’s mind,” she told the American magazine.
In the interview, Taylor also alluded to what’s in store for her seventh studio album, which kickstarted with her new single ‘Me!’ featuring Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie.
"There's a lot of a lot on this album," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I'm trying to convey an emotional spectrum. I definitely don't wanna have too much of one thing … You get some joyful songs and you get the bops, as they say."
She promises that there will be "really, really, really, really sad songs" but thankfully “not enough where you need to worry about [her].”
Swift is not the first celebrity to praise Sally Rooney’s works with Girls writer Lena Dunham naming her as her favourite modern fiction writer in a tweet.
