Strong Irish Presence for the 2016 British Independent Film Awards
Must be the luck of the Irish! Fassbender earns third nomination
Jamie Dornan and Michael Fassbender are a couple of the Irish nominees for the 2016 British Independent Film Awards (BIFA).
Hailing from Northern Ireland, Dornan's performance in the WWI film Anthropoid earned him a spot for Best Supporting Actor. Many are familiar with Dornan from his serial killer role in the British crime drama The Fall. Meanwhile, Irish-German actor, Fassbender, made the Best Actor list for the crime drama Trespass Against Us. Previously, he has won Best Actor for his role in Shame(2011) and Hunger(2008).
Among the nominated Irish stars are Belfast writers John Cairn and Michael McCartney for the thriller A Patch of Fog. Irish genre-film I Am Not A Serial Killer also gathered three nominations under the Irish film director, Billy O'Brien.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on December 4th, which will be held at Old Billingsgate, London.
