Stellar First Weekend Sends 'The Drummer And The Keeper' To Cinemas Nationwide
The Irish film released Friday September 8th has already received critical acclaim and high praise as it embarks on it's journey onto the big screen.
Written and directed by Nick Kelly, whose short film 'Shoe' was shortlisted for an Academy Award, The Drummer and The Keeper tells the story of the unlikely friendship formed between two young men; Gabriel, a reckless young drummer with bipolar disorder, who revels in rejecting society’s rules and Christopher, a 17 year old with Asperger’s Syndrome, who yearns to fit in.
The film about friendship and mental health features an array of emerging Irish talent with the likes of Dermot Murphy, Peter Coonan, Aoibhinn McGinnity and Annie Ryan all making appearances.
Already picking up an award for 'Best First Feature' at the Galway Film Fleadh, the future looks bright as it expands to cinemas nationwide.
