Seth Meyers planning a reboot of The Munsters
This time, there's a decidedly hipster twist to the tale.
Much-loved '60s monster comedy The Munsters is set for a comeback courtesy of chat show host Seth Meyers and NBC.
It will keep the half-hour sitcom format of the original which aired from '64 to '66, but the action is taking place not in Mockingbird Heights, California, but the hippest of hipster Brooklyn.
It should be interesting to see how they'll struggle to blend in with the hipster set - they just might show their new neighbours the real meaning of non-conformity!
NBC attempted to resurrect the show as an hour-long series in 2012 but it failed to make a splash.
Odd Mom Out creator Jill Kargman is creating the final script, but no other information is available as yet.
There's no word yet on when we'll get to see the new Munsters, but Kargman is writing the first script.

Grew up watching The Munsters, so will always have love for it. Still an inferior imitation of the Addams Family tho

Not everyone is happy with the plans, however:
I am mad. Munsters is what had me falling in love with "cheesy Gothic" as a lifestyle ghoul. I hate this pitch. https://t.co/HGhp2lBKt4

@sethmeyers come on! Don't do it! The Munsters were great, don't ruin it by making a crappy remake!

Let's hope the show can strike a balance between old and new when it finally rises from the dead.
