Saoirse Ronan's Mother Says She's Beaming With Pride
The Irish actress's mother says she "couldn't be more proud" of her daughter after she won her first Golden Globe earlier this week.
While accepting her award Saoirse joked live on stage about FaceTiming her mother, Monica.
"I am so happy for her," she told the Irish Independent.
"She's my best friend, my rock, we're a team and I couldn't be more proud of her achievements in life as a young woman. She's makes me beam every day with pride."
Soairse was yesterday nominated for a BAFTA and is now being tipped for Oscar glory for her stand-out performance in Ladybird.
She's come a long way in the last couple of years, with four BAFTA nominations already to her name and has been short-listed twice for the Oscars. But it still seems like only yesterday when we here at Hot Press become the first magazine in the world to make the then raising actress our cover star all the way back in 2007.
