Ruth Negga to star alongside Brad Pitt in Sci-Fi film Ad Astra

Oscar nominated Irish actress Ruth Negga is going to be acting alongside Brad pitt in an upcoming Space Epic Ad Astra.

The film will be written and directed by James Gray, who won over critics earlier this year with his The Lost City of Z, a true to life adventure drama set in the early 1900s. Ad Astra will star Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones in the lead role.

Pitt is reportedly playing a space engineer Roy McBride who heads out into the solar system 20 years after his father (Lee Jones) left on a one-way mission to Neptune, aiming to find signs of extra-terrestrial intelligence. Jones will seemingly be something of threat in a story that has some hallmarks of Joseph Conrad's Heart Of Darkness

There is no word as of yet as to who Negga will be playing but expect to hear more details to come out in the coming days. Shooting on the film has just begun.
