Roddy Doyle To Attend Fastnet Film Festival In May
Roddy Doyle will attend the Fastnet Film Festival in Schull this May.
Irish author, playwright and screenwriter Roddy Doyle has accepted an invitation to attend the 11th Fastnet Film Festival in May and take part in several events over the five days of the festival.
Doyles’s first 3 novels The Commitments, The Snapper and The Van form the Barrytown Trilogy, centred on a working class Dublin family. He has won several awards, including a Best Adapted Screenplay BAFTA for The Commitments and two Man Booker prizes. Doyle recently penned the screenplay for Rosie, which was directed by Paddy Breathnach (Viva).
The Fastnet Film Festival is a major showcase for Irish and international short film production, focusing on the craft of film, held in high regard on a national and international level for several years now.
The 11th Fastnet Film Festival will run from May 22 to 26, 2019 in the seaside village of Schull.
