Ricky Gervais’ Netflix Series to Reunite Extras Stars
Ashley Jensen will appear in the new show alongside former co-star Gervais
Netflix have revealed the cast for comedian Ricky Gervais’ new series After Life.
Ashley Jensen who played Gervais’ character’s best friend in Extras will star in the series, alongside Downton Abbey’s Penelope Wilton and Doctor Who’s David Bradley.
Gervais stars as Tom, a man whose wife dies. Contemplating suicide, he decides instead to live long enough to punish the world by saying and doing whatever he likes.
According to the Netflix synopsis, Tom thinks not caring about himself or others is a superpower. However, things get tricky when his friends try save the man they used to love.
The series will also reunite the comedian with Mandeep Dhillon, Jo Hartley, Roisin Conaty and Diane Morgan who all starred together in The Office spin-off David Brent: Life on the Road.
“This cast combines the best of the new breed of great British comedy talent with some of the wonderful alumni of my previous shows,” Gervais said in a statement regarding the cast.
After Life will consist of six half-hour episodes.
