RHCP will be supported by a slew of high-profile artists for the rest of the tour including The Strokes, A$AP Rocky, Haim, Beck, St. Vincent and King Princess.
According to a press release, the band have “never been more thrilled, bursting with commitment and purpose, as they are regarding this upcoming tour."
“They have no interest in resting on past accolades, awards or commercial success, this is a mission, they intend to channel the most mighty spirits, and give everything they’ve got.”
The funk-rock band announced the 32-city global stadium with a mock breaking news announcement featuring the four-piece. It features the quartet reading off the names of the cities they are set to tour with Flea starring as Todd The Squirrel and frontman Anthony Kiedis as Johnson Hammerswaddle.
Drummer Chad Smith plays the role of weatherman Randy Raindrops and iconic RHCP guitarist John Frusciante joins the newscast as himself. It will be the band’s first tour with Frusciante — who rejoined the group in 2019 — in 15 years.
The group last performed with their previous guitarist Josh Klinghoffer in 2019 in what was Klinghoffer’s final outing with the band. The band released their last studio album The Getaway in 2016.
