Past Bond Stars Pay Tribute To Roger Moore
Both Irish actor Pierce Brosnan and Sir Sean Connery pay moving tributes to Sir Roger Moore, who passed away yesterday at the age of 89 following a short battle with cancer.
The Navan-born actor Brosnan hailed Roger Moore as "magnificent" in his role as Bond... James Bond. He wrote on Instagram: "Dear Sir Roger Moore, It is indeed with a heavy heart that I hear the news of your passing this morning.
"You were a big part of my life, from The Saint to James Bond... you were a magnificent James Bond and one that led the way for me, the world will miss you and your unique sense of humour for years to come. My sincerest condolences to your family and children. RIP."
While the Scottish actor Sean Connery told the Hollywood Reporter: ""I was very sad to hear of Roger's passing. We had an unusually long relationship by Hollywood standards that was filled with jokes and laughter. I will miss him."
Roger Moore played the role of James Bond seven times in a 12 year span, which is still the record for the number of times one actor has played the iconic part.
