Our First The Dark Tower Footage is Coming
In these times of multimillion-dollar blockbusters, even the trailer gets its own hype.
The cinematic adaptation of Stephen King’s popular novel series has been in development hell since at least 2007. During that time, J.J. Abrams was attached to the project, followed by Ron Howard, before Nikolaj Arcel settled into the director’s chair.
The first footage will debut at EW Popfest in Los Angeles, which will be held on the 29th and 30th of October. There’s no set date for when we’ll actually get our first look at the new movie. Also, this event will be the only place to see it, unless it gets leaked online, which is entirely within the realm of possibility.
The long awaited film will release 17 February, 2017. Idris Elba will play the hero, Roland Deschain, and Matthew McConaughey will play the villainous Walter Padick, also known as Randall Flagg, also known as The Man in Black.
