New Batman director will not be using Ben Affleck's script
Affleck will remain as The Dark Knight, however.
War of the Planet of The Apes director Matt Reeves has revealed he will be working with a new script when he helms the new Batman film set in the current DC universe.
Actor Ben Affleck was originally planned to star in and direct the movie but dropped out of the director's chair earlier this year, with Reeves coming in to replace him.
Speaking with MTV's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Reeves says he's also scrapped the script that the Gone Girl star penned, telling them "it’s a new story. It’s just starting again. I’m excited about it. I think it’s going to be really cool.”
Affleck was already confirmed to stay on as Bruce Wayne but there is no word of yet as to whether or not Deathstroke will continue on as the villain. Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike) had previously been cast in the role.
Reeves' latest project, War of the Planet of the Apes hits theatres this weekend.
