Netflix Working on New Stephen King Adaptation, In the Tall Grass
Netflix hope they can follow up on the success of previous King adaptions Gerald's Game and 1922
Originally published in Esquire, Stephen King and son Joe Hill's collaborative novella In the Tall Grass is set to be adapted by Netflix.
The story centres on a sister and brother who venture into a vast field in Kansas after hearing a young boy’s cry for help. They soon discover there may be no way out and that something evil lurks within the tall grass.
The film is to be helmed by cult filmmaker Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice, Westworld) and will star Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring franchise, Fargo) and rising star Harrison Gilbertson (Upgrade, Picnic at Hanging Rock).
Filming began last week in Toronto. Netflix will release the film worldwide in 2019.
This will be third Netflix adaptation of a King story following after Gerald's Game and 1922. Both received critical acclaim.
Meanwhile, King latest novel The Outsider is reviewed in the latest Hot Press issue. Check it out to see the magazine's verdict...
