Netflix Snaps Up Rights To New Ben Stiller & Adam Sandler Movie
Netflix has acquired the global rights to a new movie entitled 'The Meyerowitz Stories', which has a stellar line-up that includes Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson.
The film, which is written and directed by Noah Baumbach, will premiere in cinemas before being made available on the popular streaming service in late 2017.
The award-winning writer, producer and director's credits include 'Kicking and Screaming', 'The Squid and the Whale', 'Margot at the Wedding', 'Greenberg', 'Frances Ha', 'While We’re Young' and 'Mistress America'.
Baumbach received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay for 'The Squid and The Whale'.
"Noah Baumbach is an important voice in American filmmaking and his films are always highly anticipated around the world. Noah is among the filmmakers that we were eager to work with, and I know that film enthusiasts everywhere will be as moved by this film as we were," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer. “We’re thrilled to be the avenue in which global audiences will be able to see the film.”
