Natalie Portman won't be in any more Marvel Movies
With news that the actress wouldn’t be in the next Thor movie, her future with Marvel was already uncertain.
Thor: Ragnarok is coming late 2017 and will have Tessa Thompson play Valkyrie, who will also be Thor’s love interest. This announcement cast doubts onto Portman’s character, Jane Foster, who played opposite of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in the previous two films. Natalie Portman confirmed this, saying she was “done” with Marvel.
The news probably isn’t that surprising. The Marvel movies are no strangers to absent characters. In this year’s Captain America: Civil War, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts didn’t make an appearance, her in-story reason was that her and Tony Stark’s relationship was on hold. With Thor’s business in Asgard, maintaining a relationship with an Earth girl could be difficult.
